About Me

I’m Kathryn Kliewer, and my passion is herbs. My purpose is to help you discover how simple it can be to integrate them into your daily life to your benefit. I work with Western and Ayurvedic herbs. Ayurveda is an ancient system of health, which originated in India and is now used in many parts of the world. “Ayu” means life and “Veda” knowledge of. Ayu is comprised of the mind, body, senses and the soul. Therefore, this system is a holistic approach, taking all of these levels into account and how they work together to achieve wellness.
Having worked in the health care industry for 18 years, performing in various health modalities, I witnessed how a transition toward a natural and holistic approach to health benefited many people. I also experienced the benefits of herbs and a holistic approach after I underwent some significant changes following the birth of my second child, at age 38, a full 13 years after delivery of my first.
I have a Master Herbalist diploma from the American College of Healthcare Sciences. In addition, I have an associate degree in criminal justice with continued course work in psychology and sociology. I believe my background in these areas has helped me take an inquiring and investigative approach to my herbal consulting business.
I live just outside of Portland, Oregon. Among many interests, I enjoy walking and being outdoors, yoga and meditation, all kinds of music, gardening, reading, playing with my children, and cooking.
